Footage captures the moment explorers discover key piece in case of man who went missing over 10 years ago

It took ten years for Warren Hagyard's remains to be found
A key piece in a missing person's case has been discovered by explorers ten years on from an elderly man's disappearance.

79-year-old Warren Hagyard was last seen in April 2014 after having visited his son's home that afternoon. His wife Cathy was expecting him home afterwards, by Hagyard never showed.

A huge manhunt was then sparked in the hopes of locating him, with police pinpointing their search to a 400-square-mile area of remote rugged terrain in Nevada, USA .

Hagyard's blue Honda Civic was later discovered stuck in a creek bed, but the man himself was nowhere to be seen.

By early May, police announced that they were scaling back their search for Hagyard to 'review strategies for the continuing effort', The Sacramento Bee reported at the time.

Fast forward a decade and any of Hagyard's remains were still yet to be found, until hikers were walking by an area of around three miles from where his car had been discovered some years ago in Coyote Canyon.

A shoe, a pair of blue jeans, some bones and car keys were found and presumed to be that of Hagyard's.

YouTube explorers EWU Crew wanted to look further around the area that some of Hagyard's presumed remains were found in the hopes of reuniting some of his belongings with his wife.

In a video shared in June of this year, the team documented the moment they came across a key part of the case - Hagyard's wallet.

"It appears as if we have found his wallet underneath this bush right here," the guy in the video explains.

They they retrieve the wallet from the bushes and look inside it to find credit cards and Hagyard's ID cards.

The explorers then came across a more insister find - some arm bones and a scapula, as well as the sole of a shoe.

Knowing that it was an ongoing investigation, the explorers left the items where they found them and notified the police so that they could come collect them for themselves.

While evidence points to the idea that Hagyard sadly died while roaming the remote area, the question of why he was there still remains a mystery.

"No one knows why he was out here - it's crazy," the explorer mused as he panned the camera round to show the canyon.

"This is literally the middle of nowhere and how he even found his way out here [and] even got his car all the way back in this canyon... no one can understand how he did that."

It's thought that some of the items found by the team have since been returned to Hagyard's wife.

Shoppers recall ‘horrible’ smell in store where worker was found trapped behind shelves almost 10 years after going missing

Larry Ely Murillo-Moncada vanished in 2009
When Larry Ely Murillo Moncada disappeared in 2009, no one expected for his body to be found in the supermarket he worked at a decade later.

Tragically, the 25-year-old's body was discovered trapped behind some shelves at the site of the since-closed down supermarket.

Now, customers of the former No Frills Supermarket, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, have recalled their shopping experiences in the store - specifically one area inside the property.

Murillo-Moncada worked for the business at the time of his mysterious disappearance, and after his corpse was discovered it emerged that there was one spot that workers used to hang out for unofficial breaks.

He absconded back in 2009 after dramatically bursting barefoot out of his mom and dad's home during a blizzard.

It was a day after Thanksgiving, on November 27, and Murillo-Moncada was experiencing hallucinations, his mom confirmed via translator and family friend, Maria Stockton.

"He was hearing voices that said 'eat sugar'," his mom told Council Bluffs Police Department through Stockton.

Adding: "He said somebody was following him, and he was scared."
Almost 10 years went by until his family were given some form of closure.

In January 2019, three years after No Frills closed for good, Murillo-Moncada's body was discovered behind the 12ft high freezers.

It finally all made sense to former shoppers why there was that 'horrible' odour that lingered in the aisle.

Taking to social media, customers reflected on their experiences at No Frill supermarket. One person commented: "I always thought it smelled like something dead."

And they weren't alone, as someone else agreed: "We went there once and the smell was so strong back there by the coolers that it made me sick, I had to leave. never went back again."

While another added: "I shopped there all the time and it smelled horrible! I even asked the butcher one time if the back area was dirty with dried blood from cutting the meat and he said no, it was really clean. It smelled for a long time!"

It was concluded that during his mental health episode Murillo-Moncada had fallen behind the freezers into the 18-inch gap, becoming trapped in the process.

His death was ruled as an accident.

The grocery worker's corpse was discovered by a crew tasked with dismantling shelves at the store - he was wearing the exact same clothes that his mom described he was in when he left his home without his car keys or possessions.Featured Image Credit: COUNCIL BLUFFS POLICE DEPARTMENT / Iowa Cold Case

Mom of boy who went missing 33 years ago shares major update after man took DNA test

Ben Needham was 21 months old when he disappeared, and his mom has never given up hop
A British mom whose little boy went missing 33 years ago has shared a major update after a man claiming to be her son took a DNA test.

Ben Needham was just 21 months old when he vanished from the Greek island of Kos in 1991, when he was on vacation with his mom, Kerry, to visit his grandparents.

The toddler was last seen at the family's farmhouse, which was undergoing renovations at the time, but despite an extensive search of the building and surrounding areas the young boy has never been found.

Kerry has been holding out hope that her son, who would now be 34, would one day return, and earlier this year it seemed there could be a break in the case.

In July, South Yorkshire Police revealed that a man in Denmark had approached authorities and expressed belief that he was the missing Ben Needham.

The man claimed he had been told by his grandparents that he'd been taken from Kos, and that he once visited a market and heard someone shouting 'Ben'.

After that incident, he claimed he was kept inside in a caravan for years.

Though the man's claims offered hope for the case, Kerry remained cautious as he wasn't the first person to suggest he could be her missing son.

She awaited the results of the DNA test, and has now spoken out after being given her answer.

According to the BBC, a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police has confirmed that the Danish man's DNA was not a match for Ben or Kerry.

Both the man and Kerry were informed of the results, which Kerry described as 'disappointing' as she spoke with The Mirror.

Kerry claimed that she had known 'in [her] heart of hearts' that the Danish man was not Ben, but admitted there is 'always that hope'.

"It could be someone you least expect, it's always possible," she said. "So this is disappointing, obviously."

However, the mom said: "I will never give up for as long as I live."

She has urged people to continue to share any information they may have in relation to Ben's disappearance, saying: “We will not let this deter us from appealing to other people to come forward, if they think they could be Ben.

“We will always take any information confidentially. Always willing to do a DNA test on anybody. The search goes on. It's a case of rebuilding my strength and hope again, to continue with the search. "Featured Image Credit: Police Handout / Milos Bicanski / Getty Images

Terrifying footage captures alleged kidnappers trying to take kids from street

A Texas boy said a man tried luring him into his car with the promise of a football
Heartstopping footage shows a group of children running away screaming with an alleged kidnapper in pursuit.

As millions of children across the US head back to school following the summer break, parents are being advised to warn their kids about talking to strangers.

It comes as parent Genna Skolnik recently shared footage of an incident that happened earlier this month.

Door camera footage shows a man in a white tee and shorts getting out of his white SUV and running after Jonathan, Genna's son.

The Dallas mom sat down with Jonathan and her other son, Zachary, in an interview aired on Good Morning America .

The trio recalled what happened when two vehicles pulled outside of the home where the lads and their nine-year-old friends were enjoying the last bit of the summer holidays.

Genna said: "I heard screaming and I thought, and I could hear commotion outside."

Zachary then revealed when he realized a big problem was on his hands.

"We get onto the sidewalk and we try to skip past and I hear the driver's telling my friends to get into their car," he said.

The friends could then be seen running off into the house and be heard screaming.

"I was the first one at the door screaming, 'Someone's trying to kidnap us!'" Zachary went on.

Jonathan recalled how the man was trying to lure him into the SUV as he claimed a football was waiting for him in the back of a car.

"He said, 'There's a football in the back of the car.' And then, we should get in the back of the car. Then I said, 'I'm sorry to talk to strangers . '
The incident was captured on CCTV. (Good Morning America)

Genna was able to rush out of her home, phone in hand, and was able to take a snap of the SUV's license plate before it was out of sight.

Callahan Walsh, the executive director for the Florida office of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, told GMA that parents and guardians should be having conversations with their kids about keeping safe.

"Children should be very wary of strangers that are in a car approaching them," he told the program.

"We know that the vast majority of attempted abductions and successful abductions use a vehicle.

"We know that the perpetrators are using the same lures, like asking for directions, looking for a lost puppy, or having candy.

"And so, parents need to be talking to their children about identifying these risky situations and knowing how to avoid them."Featured Image Credit: Good Morning America

“NYC would cease to function without the NYPD. NYC Politicians need to get their priorities right. "Someone else said.

"They need to give these incredibly brave men and women the support they need to do this extremely dangerous and difficult work, if they want the greatest city in the world to remain great."
